"Matisse Cut-outs for Kids." This Art Class is designed for homeschool kids ages 4-11. Attendees will learn about Henri Matisse, pick up a few French vocabulary words, and will create their own 18" x 24" masterpiece inspired by the artist's famous cut-out series.

About the event
In the late 1940s French artist Henri Matisse used pre-painted, cut paper as his primary medium, introducing the now-famous cut-out series. His lively compositions grace the walls of many private homes and have inspired generations of designers, but most people don't know how this groundbreaking style launched the final chapter in Matisse’s long career.
Creative Expression, Art History, and basic Language skills will be presented by designer, artist, and small business owner, Lynn Ciecierski (aka The Wix Doctor).
Within this 2-hour class, children will learn about the magic of creativity and play while creating their own cut-out masterpiece to take home.
$25 includes the following class materials:
- 18" x 24" poster paper
- Colored Paper
- Brushes
- Kid Scissors
- Paste
- French beret
Please bring an artist smock, apron, or old men's button-down to protect clothing from art materials (glue).
Parents of children under age 6 must remain for the duration of the class.
